Never a bad thing to ask questions, how else would you find stuff out.... ;)
No, we don't free lunge (or lunge at all) the school horses before trailering. They have "been there, done that" when it comes to showing and trailering and are sweet as pie at the horse shows. The only two horses that would be lunged would be Monty and Stryder. Everyone else is fine.
We're not sure what time the trailer will be coming. It really depends on what classes everyone is going in. We'd like to get there as early as we need to be there, and not more than we have to be...it's a very long day for everyone, including the horses so we like to manage our time very wisely.
As all the horses that are going to the show are being used 2 and 3 times during the day, we like to make sure we conserve whatever energy they have. Everyone has to keep this in mind when they are making their choices for what classes they are entering. I think it's only fair to say that everyone enters one division only for this horse show. If we push our horses too far there won't be anything left of them by the end of the day. So, Leanne, Im a little concerned that you want to take Dylan in the Hack division at the beginning of the day. By the time you get around to riding him at the end of the day, after Taylor has taken him in her division, there won't be anything left of him ;) A Hack division is usually geared towards horses that need to "see the ring" before they go in and jump. Dylan is a Pause a While veteran and is quite comfertable in the ring, so maybe for this show, we'll hold off on going in the Hack division and see how we do with our jumping classes - plus, you do get a Hack class included with your jumping division.
The horses don't really need to be shown around the property, they've been there quite a few times already, but you are more than welcome to take a little walk around with your horse once we get there.
Yes, we get prepared for the show on the Saturday before. Usually this occurs after the lessons are done, so around 2:30 ish. We can braid for sure, and bathe only if it's warm enough, but keep in mind, we have the wash stall to use too, if Sherri says it's okay to use.
Another thing that I wanted to mention to everyone is that car pooling is a great idea. The parking at Pause A While is limited so if we can get people car pooling over there from the barn, it would be much better. I can take over 3-4 kids in my car so if we can get a couple more people helping out with the driving, that would be great. We can arrange that when we get to the barn on show day....keep in mind, EVERYONE goes back to the barn after the show, so if parents that are spending the day with their kids want to car pool over there, then that would work out aswell.
It's gonna be a great show guys - only 4 more Sunday's until April 9th, so work hard in those lessons!!

That pretty much clears alot fo things up but there is one thing im wondering about. Lets say the trailor arrives at the barn at 7:00 what time would be good for us to be at the barn?
last year we got the barn about a half hour before the trailer arrived that way we had time to fix braids and any umm... poo stains.. lol (thanks curtis) but if we are doing something different this year i don't know about it! lol
lori can you remind me to talk to you on wed about what division i'm going to go in? cause i'll forget... thanks.
hi everyone...for carpooling im sure my mom can drive people if they need a ride...i cant wait to actually braid a mane with monty (lol oreo!)...this is gonna be so fun...usually i have to wait until june or so to start showing lol

Yeah im so excited for the april 9th show. I cant wait! lol its gonna take a long time for me to braid kocheyms mane cuz im the only one riding him.so if anyone isnt braiding i will b there for extra help.
ok that helps with a lot of mi questions but lets just say cuz i'm gonna do division 1 (flat) with sabrina i need to be there earlier so does the trailer time ajust differently if we need to be there for the beginning of the show? and as for the two trips does one of the show commitee people go with the first group and the other waits at the barn? lets say lori goes with the first trip, would megham stay for the second trip? ok so when we have more info about pricing and times is there gonna be a letter sent out?
OMG I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so if mi dad/mom drives me there and watches mi division can some one drive me back to the barn when the show is over??? post back thanks
thanks em lmao ur so nice jkjkjkjk so ya someone plz reply to mi question!!
Dianna, is the hack division the only division you are going in with Sabs?? Why aren't you going in a jumping division with her?
Yes, Meghan and I will split up for the trips over there. Yes, once we have booked the trailer, which will happen this week, we'll send out an billing for everyone outlining all the costs and when we need the payments by.
Im sure we can get someone from the show to drive you back to the barn after the show. Usually there are lots of people going back that way.
If anyone else has any questions, please send me an email - it's easier for me to check them at work!! my email is lori@hep.ca
thanks,

lol now i'm confuzed allicia what am i going in now is it division 1 flat or division 2 crossrails??????????????-- Edited by Dianna at 21:54, 2006-03-21
I know you asked Allicia, but I would like to answer too....hopefully that's okay with you guys. Personally, I think Dianna should be going in Division #2 with Emma. There is no age restriction and it's meant for those who are just starting with off property showing. That's my thought.

hey guys i have one little thing to say that just came to mind sinse we have been riding inside all winter we havnt been using the flower boxes and planks and stuff as much. as some of you may have noticed at the last in house show some of the horses were taken a little by surprise by the change in jumps. at pause awhile if you are doing more than cross rails the jumps are very filled in so it would probobly be a good idea to start making our jumps a little more interesting looking in our lessons so that we can focus on our whole ride in the show ring and not just on getting the horse to jump the flowers !!!!! grr i hate it when that happens lol
I can so relate to that. My last two lessons, Dylan has refused to go over jumps with the green flower box under it. Usually I can hang on when he balks but last week he refused way before and I landed flat on my butt. Anyhow, we are working on him and he will be show quality again before we know it.
