Congrats to the girls who showed on Sunday. You all did a great job and it was nice to see the older girls jump in (no pun intended) to compete against the younger ones.
I think schooling shows are the basis of the rest of your horse showing career. These are the "practice" for the next level shows. The schooling shows on your home ground are the best and easiest because you know what to expect from all the horses and the grounds that you are showing on. It is a valuable experience for all riders (except chicken moms like me), to come out to our schooling shows and have some fun and learn while doing so.
For those going off property to schooling shows, this is the next level to your showing career. These off property shows let you experience different horses, riders, judges, show rings, jumps, etc. but still on a schooling show level. This is important to do and sometimes a little overwhelming, but we all need these "under our belts". The more schooling shows you attend on and off property, the more you and your horse are prepared to go to the next level. Just because you show at WES or once or twice at Foxhunter or Pause Awhile is not enough experience to go on to the next level.....show, show, show and gain experience, experience, experience. The more the better and you and your horse will be ready for anything.
Sorry to be so long winded. You girls are doing great and I'm sure Sherri and Lori are very proud of you all. See you on Sunday....don't forget, if you are not showing, the girls who are will appreciate your support at the show.
