I hope everyone has read the notices around the barn about our special day on May 15 for Curtis.


As you know, his eye is pretty bad and costs a lot of money for the medicine that he takes.  Sherry has been sleeping at the barn, so she can be up at midnight, and 2 am and 5 am to give him his medicine.


we all want Curtis to recover and be a happy healthy horse again.  On May 15, we are having a "Toonie For Curtis" day.  The day will start off with our "tack and other stuff" sale, will keep going with our "pot luck" and finish with "pony games".


If you have any old tack or riding clothes, boots, etc. that you are not using any longer, or any other items at home that you would like to sell and donate the money to the Curtis Fund, please bring them to the barn AT THE LATEST ON MAY 14.   If you like, please put a price on the item that you are selling.  Sherri, Lori, Sue, Charlene and Sue will be there to take the items and get them set up on the tables for the sale on Sunday.


On Sunday, we would like you to bring baked goods for our bake sale.  Please put a price on these too, but not too much as we want everything sold.  Also, moms and dads we would ask that you make something for our pot luck on Sunday and bring that along Sunday with you.


After lunch, the pony games start. 


Sign up sheets are on the board in the aisle of the barn for donations for the sale, pot luck, baked goods and pony rides.


We hope to see EVERYONE from the barn there, and bring along brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma and grandpop too.  Everyone is welcome.  We hope to have a terrific day and raise some money to take care of Curtis.

me too! i love curtis and i hope he gets better soon.. i miss him. i hate seeing him like this!


i'm asking my sister jen who used to ride if i can sell some of her riding stuff so most of it is like new so if she says yes then there will be all kinds of cool stuff to buy! yay!

Is it possible to organize a car wash?  Get cars off the street to come and get their cars washed by the WES students for a couple of bucks?  Would be great if the weather was nice.  Drivers could hit the bake sale while they were waiting...

It is a great idea for a car wash, but I'm with you, Kris, I would rather muck a stall than wash a car!


Make sure all you guys tell all your friends about the sale and make sure they tell all their friends and bring all of their families....we want this to be big - Curdybird deserves the best care we can get him.


Im really looking forward to all these baked goods that everyone will be bringing - Girls: I want to see you all bring something for the bake sale and you have to bake it yourself, don't buy it in a store

It sounds like we are going to have a lot of things to sell, so Sherri was wondering about putting signs at the end of the driveway and maybe at the church corner re "barn sale" or "farm sale" or something, to bring in the people driving by.


Or maybe we could put an ad in the Banner?  What do you think?


The only problem with a car wash at the farm is the mud.  We really need a parking lot or driveway that is paved.


Thanks for the positive replies kids.  Please talk it up at the barn when you are there so all the kids that don't come on here will know about it.

i dont know if a car wash would work considering as our drive way would get the cars all dirty on their way back out if you know what i mean but it would be a good idea to put a sign at the end of the drive way advertising the bake sale so that other ppl could come and buy snacks and we could put on the sign that the proceeds are to help save a very sick horse we have :)

We should do a sign for sure - "Bake Sale/Tack Sale" and maybe look into putting an ad in the Banner where all the garage sales are always advertised.  Putting on the sign or in the advertising that all proceeds are going to one of the horses in the barn who is sick is also a good idea.


We could even look into putting up signs in the local tack shops in the area.

omg you guys i dont know what to do   !!!    its me SARAH HANSEN i cant get my log in working but yea  i really really really want to come to the fundraiser for curtis  but i dont know if i can  cuz you see i work every sunday from 7:30am - 4:30pm  and i want to book it off but i cant! because i have to take the weekend before that off because of the pauseawhile show and the weekend ofter it off because im going to montreal and then i have one free weekend and then the aurora show! so that would be three weeks in a row plus one for aurora that i would have to take off and i can pretty much tell you that i would get fired for it. not that i would mind i really dont like my job but i need the money to pay for mickey and my shows and i only have 2 months left of working there untill summer camp starts. so i dont know what to do. im gonna try to ask if i can awitch to the saturday which means i would be missing my ride or i can work a half day there and get to WES at around noon but i still dont know if i will be able too   but i wanna come so much !! curtis means alot to me hes like the best horse ever     aside from dylan  lol  but even if i cant make it i have sooooo much stuff to sell!!! all you girls who are joining the show team this year are gonna love it ! i have so much pony show stuff from dylan

You can so count on me no questions asked! i am gonna try and bake as much as possible for curtis!  Speaking about Curtis on sunday he opened his eye (and was blinking)!!!! Sherry and I were able to see the ulser! (it was cool and really scary)  it is not like hes better now but it is a good start and an improvement! YAY CURTIS KEEP ON FIGHTING! and A HUGE YAY FOR SHERRY AND ALL THE EFFORT SHE HAS PUT IN FOR HIM TO MAKE HIM BETTER!!!

yay! curtis! i had a big fight with my dad so that i could come next weekend... he wanted to celebrate my b-day that day but i told him that i really HAD to come to this.. curtis is a great horse and i want to do everything possible to help him get better! i am bringing candy.. i know that's not really baked or anything but i'm probably the worst cook u know so i thought that i would get my dad to buy some candy so that i could sell it... (yes after i had a fight with him about coming i did insist that he buy candy) lol and i am trying my hardest to convince my sister to let me sell her riding stuff.. she doesn't ride any more and has moved out of the house and left all her junk here and since she doesn't plan on riding again i have asked her to donate her stuff.. i am having a hard time and have only convinced her to sell her too small helmets and her spurs.. i'm working on getting the other stuff and am hoping to look at sarah's stuff! i want my own stuff! yayayay! anyway..  so i am gonna go now and be bored... byebye

I'm so happy to hear that you are all going to be helping out with the Curtis Fundraiser.  You girls are terrific.  It is nice to see the support you and your families have for the barn.


Curtis had his eye open last night as well when Sherri was putting the meds in and was actually quite interested in what was happening around him.  The ulcer is pretty awful looking, but hopefully, our big grey guy will be strong and whole again.  He has a big heart.


Jordan, good riding on Monty....you two are a good pair.  Good luck on the weekend to Sarah and Helen at the show.


We all owe Sherri a big thank you and a bigger hug for all the care and extra work that she has had to give to Curtis.  Sabina has also been a huge help, and without these two, we surely would not have Curtis here.


What a great barn family we are!!!

yea we definately are a family  its awesome  and im happy to report sam lol that i have almost doubled the amount of stuff donated for the sale on tuesday  i got one of the huge greenhawk blanket bags full and i think i still have more stuff i just have to find it   lol  and thanks for the support about the show  i donno how well we're gonna do  mickey was kind of a nut case on tuesday but we are gonna try after all the whole reason we are going to this show is to see how much of a psycho he really is  lol so that we dont kill ppl at aurora and have to close young street due to run a way horse  lol    ha ha ha  that would be funny  in a not so funny kinda way  but yea      go curtis!!! you are a superstar and your comin back for more !

i think i have old stuff - - i think my mom does cuz well ya, maybe even i can ask my aunt for some things and she can bring them when she comes up - - i dont think she has anything though. i am looking forward to all the yummy foods
