so what have you all been working on in your lessons lately to help get ready for the show season? i know each horse has their own quirks that need work so what are you all working on to fix them?
in my lesson we have been working on transitions and getting an inside bend, flying lead changes, and practising adjusting our horse's strides.
(trying to get another horse related topic started!)
for me n sabs we r practising to get lead changes quickly n to have a good comfortable pase instead of fast to slow and for me i'm trying to remember to go with her and ride my corners well
curti and i r trying 2 work on my heels, not having them go up and down, rapoing my leg around him and pacing for the jumps. i think thats it... porbably n ot though...

Live to ride, ride to live.
im working keeping monty straight towards the jumps, and going with him when he takes them big, also getting the right leads and doing good circles cause mine always end up like squares monty likes to bulge

i think so cuz the horses at their old barn never really went well cuz that barn was in such bad shape you would be suprised of some of the stories sam told me about that old barn!
Well, MY instructor says her "ladies" do the best corners of anyone !!! Wow, that is really something. As for our lesson, Oreo and I are doing a trotting exercise over 7 "x's" with circles, diagonals AND A ROLL BACK!!!
I'm working on my hands -- they are always too high or too far apart or flapping about like a goose. Also my reins are usually too long. And I'm working on not getting bit or kicked by Prince! Any advice for when he turns around and pretends to try to nip me? I figure if he really wanted to bite me he could so I typically ignore him. Is that the right thing to do?
yea most likely prince is a weird guy he is so fussy and grouchy i would just ignore him and ride him and just ride him through it. but i know what you mean he is really hard to understand sometimes he is just random

Hi Chauffeur (cute name by the way)...I was wondering when you were going to break down and join the message board craziness! You're doing a great job on "Evil" aka Prince, keep it up
