hey! ok i can tell you about show costs lol my parents dont pay a cent lol ok if you are going to do a schooling show which you would since you are just starting to show off property you have to pay usually between 20 and 30$ for a division of usually three classes if there is four classes the division can sometimes cost you up to 50$ but there is usually only three. then you have to pay 40$ coaching fee to have your coach come to help you out and unless you have your own horse or part board you have to pay to rent the horse for the day and that is 20$ but the horse fee can be divided if there is more than one person riding the same horse. next you have to pay for the trailer now it costs the ppl 100$ just to take the trailer out for the day plus they charge per kilometer do to go to pause awhile for example the trailer usually costs $160 divided by however many people are using it. so for two people it would be 80$ each and for three it would be like $53 then once you get to the show you have to pay 4$ for a number and you get half of it back and then if you dont want to have to hold on to your horse all day you can pay like 15 or 20$ for a rental stall which is most times a really good idea because it keeps your horse calm so they arent as likely to be all nervous and crazy so all together for say 2 people to go to a show on different horses with stalls and school horses it would cost you around $187.00 now usually you guys get a bunch of people to go so that would make trailer cheaper alot of times you dont get stalls and there is usually more than one person on each horse to the horse fee is split but that is pretty much as expensive as you can get for a schooling show

Nice breakdown Sarah. You're right about the expensive part, it is a little more money to go to an off property show, and it's usually the trailering fee that costs the most out of everything. I think one of my girls gave me her money for a day to hold onto when we went to Pause a While and there was $150 which was gone at the end of the day. You also have to remember to eat
I will have a schedule of all the off property shows that everyone in the barn will be interested in going to for 2006 and it will be posted in the lounge before the show season starts, this way you can get an idea of which ones you would like to sign up for. Hopefully our little "show team" will be big this year, with lots of new people

yeah it is expensive lol but trillum is more $$$ isn't it >
Yep, the Trillium level is more expensive. It's also alot more competitive. Once you start advancing in your showing (going from schooling shows to trillium shows to 'A' shows, the money and the competition also increases). I can't wait to see how Sarah and Helen (and maybe even Jordan) do in the 2006 season :) It's going to be lots of fun.
